Levels of CCBM Qualification
for Skippers and Crew
1. Trainer
This will be a holder of the N.C.B.A.’s ‘Trainer’s Endorsement’ who is also familiar with the boats and the local waterways.
2. Certificated
This will be a holder of the N.C.B.A.'s Certificate of Community Boat Management who is also familiar with the boats and the local waterways.
3. Experienced
This will be someone who has extensive experience of boat handling on London’s canals aboard a large narrowboat or barge e.g. the Pirate Princess or Pirate Viscount. Experience that is limited to smaller boats or canals, while of obvious value, would not be considered adequate in this context.
