Kayaking at the Pirate castle
As our building is currently closed for building work (reopening next summer) we are currently only offering a very limited number of kayaking sessions
The Pirate Castle, based on the Regents Canal, is a beautiful getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life, ironically set in the exuberant and energetic Camden Town! Paddle just 15 minutes away from the castle away from Camden and you are paddling in-between the beautiful scenery of London Zoo. However a 2 minute paddle towards Camden and you are at Camden lock, a vibrant place next to the famous Camden market.
We are running children’s kayaking sessions every Tuesday and Thursday from 5pm => 6:30pm. We meet across the canal from the Castle, and run the sessions from a converted ex-British Waterways maintenance boat, which has a small changing area and basic toilet facilities. Numbers for this are limited, and we are already close to capacity, so please arrive promptly. There is currently no adult club running, but please watch this space for further developments.
We recently entered a small team in the 2007 London Youth games and came a very respectable 24th. Congratulations to Matthew Senior and James Wilkinson who both did very well. Matthew came 8th out of 28, on only his second slalom event. James came in 15th in his first ever slalom event. Next year we hope to enter a larger team and do even better.
